The notorious Blue Hawk gang of jewel thieves is reputed to be in France. A gipsy tells Widimer that he could be a millionaire if he could find half of a map, hidden behind a mirror somewhere in Paris, which gives the location of the Spanish King’s stolen treasure. After searching all over Paris, only the mirror in the Queen’s bedroom is left. While the gipsy creates a diversion, Rochefort gains entry to the Queen’s bedroom and find the half-map. The gipsy checks that it matches up with the other half already in her possession, the strips off her disguise. It is the leader of the Blue Hawk gang but he escapes before they can recover from their surprise.
