Rigodon and Tico are very pleased to be back in thier peaceful home again. Princess Romy accompanies Professor Fridriksson, Professor Lidenbrock and Hans to the station where they wait for Willy Fog to come and say goodbye to his companion travellers. Meanwhile, Ralph and the owner of the Morning Chronicle show Willy Fog illustrations of ships sunk by a so called sea monster which has caused havoc in the past few days. Willy Fog decides that he will go to the Thames shipyard to see the damages caused by the “monster” to a ship which has just come into port. But first he goes to the station to say goodbye to his friends. Romy accompanies her husband to the shipyard and they inspect the hull of the “Scotia”. This makes up his mind about accepting the American Government’s invitation to take part in an expedition on board the Abraham Lincoln and so put an end to the mystery.
