The group starts off led by Willy Fog and Professor Lidenbrock. After several hours they reach a crossroad and Professor Lidenbrock decides to take the road to the East, against Willy Fog’s wishes. They sleep out. They go along the wrong road for three days. When Lidenbrock finally admits that he’s wrong, the water has run short. Willy Fog is furious when he discovers that Transfer has filled the emergency canteens with salty water. They are thoroughly worn out and go back to the crossroad.
