Axel is very downcast at the prospect of the trip. Willy Fog announces that he will start the journey to the centre of the earth and they get ready for it. They go to Hamburg by train where, disguised as a ticket collector, Transfer tries to confuse them but to no avail. Professor Lidenbrock is very enthusiastic about the adventure which lies ahead of them. Romy and Tico join the others on the trip and finally they reach Hamburg. Axel offers to stay and look after the school. They go on board the boat to Copenhagen.
