Professor Lidenbrock needs Willy Fog’s help to decipher a strange manuscript which he has found in the library. Willy Fog offers to put them up and after several days of useless and painstaking effort, Willy Fog deciphers the message by chance. The message is signed by Arne Saknussemm, a sixteenth century alchemist. Willy Fog and Professor Lidenbrock go to the Museum’s library to look for information about Arne Saknussemm. After looking in the files, Willy Fog confirms that Arne Saknussemm did exist but didn’t leave any written works because he had been persecuted. Thirsty for revenge after his previous failure, Sullivan changes Willy
