Because of the part they played in the recovery of the Spanish jewels, D’Artacan and his friends are chosen by the KING to return them to Spain – a decision which annoys Richelieu. His men trick Pedro, a Spanish circus rat, into helping them, and D’Artacan and the Three Muskehounds end up imprisoned in the cellars of Notre Dame. But PEDRO realises he has been tricked, and with Pom’s help, manages to release them.
