Richelieu’s men cannot persuade Juliet to disclose what her mission is, but when she escapes, Rochefort follows her, believing that she will lead him to Buckingham. However, she runs into D’Artacan first. When a sword fight breaks out between D’Artacan and Rochefort, the Three Muskehounds go to his aid. Rochefort flees, and in the confusion, Juliet slips away to complete her mission.
