D’Artacan sees Dogos and AMIS duelling with a group of Guards. Widimer appears and tries to arrest them as duelling is illegal. However, on catching sight of D’Artacan, he tries to catch him, but D’Artacan escapes by hiding on the roof of a coach which, by chance, takes him to the Muskehound’s headquarters, where he meets M. De Treville, and old friend of his father.
